Data scientist

Data scientists are responsible for developing a company’s best practices by analyzing large sets of processed and unprocessed data. Other responsibilities include:

  • Performing Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
  • Discovering new algorithms to solve problems
  • Building programs to automate repetitive work
  • Recommending cost-effective and business optimizing solutions to existing strategies and practices

They work closely with various teams throughout the organization such as marketing, operations, finances and customer relations. Data scientists differ from data analysts by providing leadership around how information is captured and used.
